Intlvac has a long standing commitment to quality and excellence in the high vacuum industry. The company has become a leader in the Canadian high vacuum market. We are currently looking for an experienced web developer/marketing coordinator to join our team.

Intlvac is looking for a web developer to re-design our company's website. The candidate should be creative, energetic and have previous experience developing and maintaining company websites. In addition to developing our company website we require the winning candidate to aid in the design of our company's marketing materials.

  • Contribute to the overall design and implementation of website
  • Independently design, code, and test major features
  • Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and QuarkXpress
  • Excellent skills in web design and production, multimedia authoring tools, and digital graphics.
  • Superior communication skills
  • Solution-driven - with focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to design web layout/navigation based on understanding online user experience
  • Strong organizational skills - flexible, able to manage multiple assignments and work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, while also participating in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills - demonstrated ability to work with team members
  • Able to design for cross platform compatibility.
  • An interest and understanding of science is considered an asset
  • Graphic design diploma or Bachelor's degree with significant web design experience
  • Ability to code HTML
  • 3-5 years of related work experience

Mechanical Engineer - Senior

Under general direction, with broad scope of responsibility, perform complex activities relating to the design, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems. Perform product development activities including drawing, layout, and interpretation and implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements. Provide existing product line support in design activities and/or modification of hardware in production.

May prepare mechanical engineering studies, specifications, and cost estimates. Analyze planning procedures required to achieve departmental objectives. May provide technical leadership and assist in training less experienced engineers.

Requires independent judgment and initiative. 3 - 5 years experience.

CAD Designer - Intermediate

Under general supervision, follows instructions and procedures, performs moderate or semi-routing detailing, redrawing of components, assemblies, and engineering change orders. Incumbent will work from data such as previous drawing, layouts, details sketches, notes, verbal instructions, and standard references, directed by engineers. Perform drafting duties by CAD in 3D Modeling Inventor.

Requires previous academic preparation and experience with CAD and a minimum of two to five years of directly related work experience.

Software Engineer POSITION FILLED

Under general supervision, design and deliver production worthy software for the operation of manufacturing equipment. Must be able to write and modify existing operator interface programs, write code that operates machines.

Proficiency in the following areas: serial communication protocols such as Modbus, and device specific protocols, pneumatics, analog, and digital controls, compilation and documentation of programs and operator manuals. Software proficiency in 'C', LabView, PLC ladder logic (Allen Bradley, Omron or Automation Direct.

Final Assembly and Test Engineer POSITION FILLED

Intlvac builds systems for physical vapor deposition, ion beam sputter and etch, outer space simulation and produces a line of "End Hall" ion sources. Under general supervision, assembles and tests ion sources, thin film deposition and etch systems. Performs final acceptance tests using a variety of in house analytical tools.

Requires a BSc or Masters degree in Engineering Physics or five years or more related work experience.

Optical Thin Film Scientist POSITION FILLED

Intlvac builds systems for physical vapor deposition, ion beam sputter and etch, outer space simulation and produces a line of "End Hall" ion sources used in thin film deposition. We are developing processes for the deposition of precision optical thin films using reactive magnetron sputtering and require someone with the following background: Material Science research utilizing thin film deposition technology, ion beam technology. Knowledge of various types of PVD processes, thermal, electron beam, magnetron sputtering. Experience with thin film processing, materials characterization techniques and modeling packages. Five years or more experience, MSc or PhD in Physics or Materials Sciences.

Inside Sales Engineer POSITION FILLED

Intlvac requires someone to service our customers from around the world. The successful candidate will become familiar with Intlvac’s line of physical vapor deposition and ion beam etch systems, End Hall Ion Sources, and our various lines of vacuum products and components that are sold in Canada. Technical and mechanical competence is required. Recent graduates from BSc programs are encouraged to apply.
